Astoria-Pacific is now offering the rAPID-T analyzer with a new enzymatic testing system for wine analysis. The supplier reports the machine can run multiple analysis without requiring a set up change, reagent consumption is lower than other models and requires less maintenance because it does not use pump tubes, transmission tubing or dialysis membranes.

Columbia Label announced it had acquired a new HP Indigo WS6800 digital press to “enhance its custom and specialty wine label and packaging production.” The supplier claims it now has the latest model of such printers on the West Coast.

Cooperages 1912 recently announced a scholarship donation of $10,000 per year for the next five years to the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University, totaling $50,000. The donation will benefit SSU’s Wine Industry Scholars Program which brings first-generation college students with wine industry ties, children of vineyard and winery workers, to the University.

Storopack released Airplus Wrap film that it describes as a “space-saving substitute for traditional air bubble film” and ideal for protecting fragile items during shipping. The material’s “flexible, wavelike structure” also helps pack items more tightly and is available in two formats; 400 mm x 175 mm (19d wrap) and 710 mm x 175 mm (36d wrap).

The Boswell Company unveiled the Eclat "Hydro" barrels from Jean-Christophe Varron and Tonnellerie VINEA in Cognac. According to the supplier, the barrels are produced with French oak staves that are steamed using magnetized water in a pressurized, high temperature tank for 30 minutes.
