Zemplen Barrels is now offering the Oenocat ozone wand for sale in the North American market. The device is made by the German supplier Anseros and is designed to be inserted through the bunghole or mortise of barrels. Once inserted in the barrel, the wand will then generate gaseous ozone to kill any microbes on the surface as well as the narrow gaps between staves.

The system employs a variety of sensors to measure temperature, carbon dioxide emissions and barometer data and features relays to control temperature.

Sensaphone unveiled a new soil moisture sensor that determines volumetric water content. The supplier reports the sensor is accurate in almost any soil and operates in temperatures from -40°F to 140°F with an accuracy range of 6% that can be refined when the unit is calibrated for a particular soil type.
