ContiTech has introduced what it is calling is the food and beverage industries’ only full lineup of hoses engineered with the antimicrobial control surface Microban. The wash down and transfer hoses are designed to provide constant antimicrobial protection, keep hoses cleaner between use and prevent damage from bacteria, mold and mildew.

FlavorActiV released a wine faults recognition kit that is designed to help people identify volatile acidity, reduced sulfur, cork taint and Brettanomyces flaws in wine. FlavorActiV developed the kit with Marcia Waters MW as a training tool for professionals in winemaking, the trade or hospitality.

Polymer flooring manufacturer Flowcrete Group Ltd secured International Hazard analysis and Critical Control Point, HACCP, certification for its Flowfresh range of antimicrobial, cementitious urethane floors. The Flowfresh flooring material includes a silver-ion based bactericidal additive to complement regular floor cleaning and sanitary practices.

TandD Corporation’s new TR-71nw data logger features two channel temperature monitoring with a range of -40 to 110°C with the supplied sensor or -60 to 155°C with an optional fluoropolymer coated sensor and a resolution of 0.1°C. Measurement units can be in centigrade or Fahrenheit.

The liquid bird repellant Avian Control is now registered for use on wine grapes and other fruit in California. According to the manufacturer, Avian Control does not affect plants or soil while providing up to two weeks of effectiveness.
