Penner-Ash Wine Cellars hired Mark Melia as national sales manager. Prior to joining Penner-Ash, Melia worked as the Massachusetts and Rhode Island district manager for W.J. Deutsch & Sons. Penner-Ash is a family-owned winery located in Newberg, Ore.

Woodinville group names personnel
Woodinville Wine Country, a trade association responsible for building awareness about the quality and diversity of wines from Woodinville, Wash., announced that Gretchen Smith joined the organization as marketing coordinator. The group also said that Carol Munro, director of community relations for Chateau Ste. Michelle, and Bill Collins, tasting room supervisor for Columbia Winery, are new board members.

Gordon Brothers hires sales director
Gordon Brothers Family Vineyards, an estate winery located in the Columbia Valley AVA, has appointed Walter Whyte as national sales director. Whyte most recently served as the eastern regional sales director for Peachy Canyon Winery in Paso Robles, Calif. Details: gordonwines.com.
