Solar panels and lawn-mowing goats were among the tools employed by 14 Oregon wineries that completed the Carbon Neutral Challenge to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their operations. Mix is Goose Ridge winemaker   
Kendall Mix was appointed head winemaker at Goose Ridge Vineyard & Estate Winery, which produces 40,000 cases per year at Benton City, Wash. He will also oversee winemaking for StoneCap and Sol Duc brands. Previously Mix was with Corliss Estates, Walla Walla, Wash.
