Napa, Calif.—Deep Root Irrigation’s new DRI-12 irrigator won the top honor for new and innovative irrigation technology at the BlueTech Valley Water Summit held in March in Clovis, Calif. The DRI-12 is designed to be inserted into the ground to deliver water to a plant’s root zone. Deep Root Irrigation founder and manager Jeff Ciudaj says the irrigator eliminates loss to evaporation and runoff, prevents fertilizer runoff into creeks and streams and research indicates it can provide almost six times the saturation at 2 feet depth compared to a standard drip irrigator.
