Oakville, Calif.—John Wilson is the new winemaker at Vine Cliff Winery in Napa Valley. Prior to joining Vine Cliff, Wilson was the winemaker at Thomas George Estates in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County and before that was the assistant winemaker at Littorai Wines in Sebastopol. Wilson began his career in winemaking as cellar master for Outpost Wines and River-Marie Wines in Napa Valley where he was mentored by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. While working as cellar master, Wilson experienced five consecutive Cabernet Sauvignon vintages from every appellation in the Napa Valley.
