Adelsheim has new marketing manager
Catherine Badrak was named marketing and communications manager at Adelsheim Vineyard, Newberg, Ore. The Michigan native most recently was sales and marketing manager at Rockburn Wines in Central Otago, New Zealand.
Corks recycled in Willamette Valley
Ten Roth's stores in the Salem, Ore., area are serving as drop-off points for recycled natural wine corks through the Cork Re-Harvest program. The program is a collaboration among Willamette Valley Vineyards, the Rainforest Alliance, Bacchus Fine Wines and Western Pulp products. Bacchus' delivery service picks up the corks from Roth's and carries them to Western Pulp, which turns them into packaging material for the winery. For details, visit roths.com.
Lemelson opens for tasting
Lemelson Vineyards, Carlton, Ore., formerly open by appointment only, now hosts visitors at its tasting room five days weekly, with tasting flights at $10. Tours of the gravity-flow, 12,000-case facility will also be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday through Monday. Lemelson's seven vineyards are all certified organic.
