Comox, B.C.—Brenda Hetman-Craig and Layne Craig are the new owners of 40 Knots Vineyard Vineyard & Estate Winery. The new owners are from the northeastern British Columbia town of Fort St. John and were looking for an agricultural business they could pass on to their children. 40 Knots founder Bill Montgomery was interested in retiring and the two parties came to a quick deal, according to a press release by the winery. The property includes a 18-acre vineyard, and the Craigs hired Okanagan Crush Pad Winery winemaker Matt Dumayne to consult with the estate vineyard manager Lucas Renshaw on the winery’s portfolio of estate wines.
