New Head Winemaker at Bench 1775

Richard Kanazawa is the new head winemaker at Bench 1775 winery in Penticton, B.C. Prior to joining Bench 1775; Kanazawa was the winemaker at Red Rooster Winery and Blasted Church Vineyards. Details: icewines.com.

Wine to support hospital
Woodward Canyon Winery in Lowden, Wash., released its 2010 “Artist Series” Cabernet Sauvignon. Winery owners Rick Small and Darcey Fugman-Small purchased the piece of original artwork depicted on the wine label at the Auction of Washington Wines that supports the Seattle Children’s Hospital. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the wine also will be donated to the hospital to support children living with cystic fibrosis. Details: woodwardcanyon.com.

New brand manager
Clay Kriss is the new brand manager for Ryan Patrick Vineyards in Mattawa, Wash. Kriss oversaw northwest sales for Beringer Wine Estates before joining Ryan Patrick Vineyards. Details: ryanpatrickvineyards.com.
