Newsday: Staff writer Peter Gianotti on cocktails, but also a nice note on Palmer Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2007.

Newark Star-Ledger: Wine writer T.J. Foderaro on wine blends. Nice mentions for many, including Bridlewood Arabesque 2005, Clarendelle, Seven Daughters Red Winemaker's Blend (and the white too), Opus One, and Hedges CMS.

San Francisco Chronicle: The Chronicle tasting panel on Chardonnay wines from the Central Coast of California. Highest rated are two from Morgan - the Double L Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2006, and 'Hat Trick' Chardonnay 2006.

San Francisco Chronicle: Wine editor Jon Bonne on vintner Abe Schoener and his Scholium Project winery. Nice comments for some of the intentionally quirky wines.

Sacramento Bee: Wine columnist Mike Dunne on the Long Beach Grand Cru wine competition. Many winners cited, including St. Supery Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Mud House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Bin 36 Merlot 2005, Opolo Vineyards Merlot 2005, Sebastiani Vineyards Sonoma Merlot 2005, Trentadue Merlot 2005, and Maryhill Winery Columbia Valley Proprietor's Reserve Zinfandel 2005.

Washington Post: Wine writers Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg on wines to pair with hot dogs and sausages. Nice mentions for Frescobaldi Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina 2005, Campo Viejo Rioja Crianza 2005, Belle Glos Taylor Lane Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2006, and Albert Mann Riesling Cuvee Albert 2006. Karen's top choice, though, is Pillar Box Red 2006, while Andrew favors Francis Ford Coppola Dirctor's Cut Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2006.

Houston Chronicle: Wine columnist Dale Robertson on avoiding hangovers. Also, recommendation for Velt 1 2007, and local sommelier recommends Gaia Estate Thalassitis 2007, and Gramercy Cellars Syrah.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: Wine writer Bill Ward on white wines from France. Nice comments for Le Poule Blanc, and Chateau l'Ermitage Blanc, but top choice is Chateau Laulerie Montravel Vin Blanc 2006.

Dallas Morning News: Wine writer Kim Pierce has nice things to say for Cade Sauvignon Blanc 2007.

Denver Post: Wine columnist Tara Q. Thomas recommends wines with Chinese food. The choices are Dragon's Hollow Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, Le Bellerive Prosecco NV, Firehose California Riesling 2006, and Jurtschitsch Kamptal GruVe 2007.

Rocky Mountain News: Wine columnist Ben Weinberg on the movie 'Bottle Shock.'
