San Francisco Chronicle: Guest writer Tim Teichgraeber on California vintners in Chile. Focus is on Kingston Family Vineyards, with best comments for the Pinot Noirs and Syrah.

San Jose Mercury News: Wine columnist Laurie Daniel on rose wines. Nice comments on offerings from Wattle Creek, Little Black Dress, Kenwood, Chateau d'Aqueria, Mouton Cadet, Jadot, Bodegas Julian Chivite, and Red Guitar. Nice notes also on several Pinot Grigio wines, including those from Rex Goliath, Montevina, Villa Pozzi, Estancia, Martin & Weyrich, Morgan, and La Crema. A fine note, too, on J. Lohr 'Wildflower' Valdiguie 2006.

San Diego Union Tribune: Wine columnist Robert Whitley profiles vintner Victor Schoenfeld at Golan Heights Winery in Israel. High praise for his Yarden El Rom Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2003.

Washington Post: Guest writer Thomas Ulrich on organic and biodynimic vineyard practices. Nice mentions for Dark Horse Ranch, Clos LaChance, and Vineyard 29.

Houston Chronicle: Wine columnist Michael Lonsford on wines made with white Rhone Valley varietals. On another page, mixed reviews of several, but praise for the 2006 Viognier wines of Bonterra and Robert Hall.

Arizona Republic: Wine columnist Mark Tarbell offers tasting notes on Italian wines for summer enjoyment. Highest rated is Fontevecchia Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2005.

Dallas Morning News: The tasting panel picks wines to pair with sushi. Winners are Tangent Ecclestone 2006, Chateau Reynon 2005, Scharffenberger Brut, Rive della Chiesa Extra Dry Prosecco, Lucien Albrecht Pinot Gris 'Cuvee Romanus' 2005, Casal Garcia Vinho Verde, and Ferrari-Carano Merlot 2004.

Rocky Mountain News: Wine columnist Jennifer Rosen on sparkling wines. Recommended are Yellow Tail Sparkling White Wine, Monmousseau Brut Etoile NV, Bouvet Brut Saumur, Champalou Vouvray Brut, Langlois Cremant de Loire Rose Brut, and four Cremant sparkling wines from Alsace - Calixte Brut, Lucien Albrecht Brut Rose, Albert Mann Brut, and Abarbanel Brut.

South Florida Sun-Sentinel: Wine writer Bob Hosmon on Albarino wines. Producers recommended are Martin Codax, Adega Condes de Albarei, Fulget, and Laxas.

Miami Herald: Wine columnist Fred Tasker on Monastrell wines from Spain. Highest recommendations are for Trapio 2004, and Casa de la Ermita Crianza 2006.

Chicago Tribune: Wine reporter Bill Daley on simple wines for summer enjoyment. Highest rated is Yellow Tail Merlot 2006.

The Oregonian: Wine columnist Matt Kramer on interesting new wines. Recommended are J. Christopher Wines Willamette Valley' Sauvignon Blanc 2006, Domaine Srteilho Saing-Chinian Syrah Grenache 2005, and Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico 'Berardenga' 2004.
