Wine Review Weekly
July 22, 2013
It is 'two for the price of one' week at the New York Times, with Eric Asimov columns on rose wines (all French and mainly Provencal) and the St. Joseph appellation in the Rhone. On the other coast, columnist Katherine Cole, writing in the Oregonian, details many recent vineyard and winery acquisitions in Oregon by California wine companies and other outside investors, and considers the challenge to the Oregon wine industry to retain its identity and authenticity. And John Foy, wine columnist for the New Jersey Star Ledger, gives some well-deserved love to wines from Crete, Greece's largest island. JG
