Dobbes estate founder leaving winery for new venture
Dundee, Ore.—Wine by Joe/Dobbes Estate Wine announced several management promotions as founder Joe Dobbes is stepping down to focus on his new mobile bottling venture Dundee Mobile Bottlers. Gretchen Boock, the first employee Dobbes hired when he launched the winery in 2002, is now the chief executive officer. Boock has worked for the company for 19 years in nearly every capacity.
Former production winemaker Travis Proctor, is now the director of winemaking operations and winemaking. Proctor previously worked at wineries in San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County and the Russian River Valley regions of California.
Andy McVay is now the new winemaker for Dobbes Family Estate as well as the custom winemaking operation Dundee Vintners. McVay holds degrees in Food and Fermentation Science from Oregon State University.
Wine by Joe/Dobbes Estate Wine has been part of the Bacchus Capital Management portfolio of wine companies since 2011.
